2024 Football Season Ticket Deposits Now Being Accepted, Schedule Announced

ALBANY, N.Y. – Fresh off the best year in program history, ticket deposits are now being accepted for the 2024 University at Albany football season. The Great Danes are coming off the program’s first-ever Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) championship as well as a historic run to the FCS Playoff Semifinals.

To commemorate the unprecedented year, fans who place a $25 season ticket deposits before Feb. 9, 2024, will receive a collectable mini helmet recognizing the team’s undisputed CAA title. All fans who place their deposits before Feb. 9 will also receive the 2023 season ticket rate. After the Feb. 9 deadline, season ticket prices with increase by $25 at every level.

A major part of UAlbany’s historic season was the team’s performance at home – going 6-0 at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. The Great Danes were dominant on Bob Ford Field, defeating opponents by an average of 25.3 points. The undefeated mark includes wins over #16 Villanova, #24 William & Mary, and #22 Richmond in the Second Round of the FCS Playoffs. 

The 2024 home schedule will again consist of five (5) games - a non-conference game against LIU and four (4) CAA contests against Maine, Elon, New Hampshire, and Hampton.

Commemorative mini helmets are limited to one per account and a minimum of two seats must be purchased. 2023 returning season ticket holders will receive their same location(s) for the 2024 season. Season ticket holders who do not renew prior to the Feb. 9 deposit deadline have until Aug. 1 to renew current season ticket locations at the 2024 rates.

Commemorative helmets will not be available for those who renew following the Feb. 9 deposit deadline.

For returning season ticket holders, previous seating locations will be added to accounts following the helmet deposit deadline. New accounts will be contacted for seat selection prior to any general public on-sale date. Season ticket deposits will be applied to your 2024 balance following the early renewal deadline. All tickets and Great Dane Athletic Club Preferred Seat Gifts (GDAC PSG) must be paid in-full by Aug. 1, 2024.

The Great Danes will open the 2024 campaign at home against LIU on Aug. 31 at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.

UAlbany will then hit the road for two consecutive non-conference games. Sept. 7 will feature a trip to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers of the Big 12 (FBS) before flying across the country for a matchup with the Idaho Vandals on Sept. 14. The game with the Vandals will be a rematch of the 2023 FCS Quarterfinals, a game in which UAlbany traveled to Moscow to defeat Idaho, 30-22, to advance to the National Semifinal. 

Following a bye, the Great Danes return to Casey Stadium on Sept. 28 for the team’s first CAA matchup of the year against Maine. UAlbany has bested the Black Bears in back-to-back seasons, including a 23-21 “walk-off” win at home in 2022 and a 37-21 bludgeoning this past season on the road. 

Non-conference action wraps up the following week (Oct. 5) with a trip to Ivy League foe Cornell before seven-straight CAA games. UAlbany will then travel to Smithfield, R.I., to take on new CAA league member Bryant on Oct. 12 with an Oct. 19 matchup against Elon on the horizon the following week. The month of October will be capped with another road trip, this time to Delaware on the 26th. 2024 will mark the final season the Blue Hens compete in the CAA, with a jump to the FBS scheduled in 2025. 

The 2024 season is rounded out with four games in November at home against New Hampshire (No. 2), on the road at Stony Brook (Nov. 9) and at Rhode Island (Nov. 16), and a final home contest against Hampton (Nov. 23).
